Homemade Pizza Dough

This is my go to homemade pizza dough because you only need 6 ingredients and about 10 minutes! Most of these ingredients, if not all, are always in stock in my pantry. Usually, I make the dough around lunch time, and let the dough rest for a few hours. However you only need at least 1 hour to let the dough rise, and then you are good to bake!

The most important part of homemade pizza dough is getting the yeast to bloom. I love using individual packets of Red Star Active Dry Yeast. First add the sugar into a Mason Jar. Then using the hottest water from the tap, add the water into the jar along with the yeast. Mix until the sugar and yeast is dissolved. Let this sit for about 5 minutes. There should be about one cup of foam to the top of the jar. Now the yeast is bloomed and ready to make dough!

Homemade pizzas are so creative because there is an endless amount of toppings and it’s a fun way to get everyone involved! Heirloom tomatoes with pesto is so bright and perfect for the summer. One of my all time favorite combinations is fig, arugula, and goat cheese. For my go to pizza, I usually use Trader Joe’s Pizza Sauce, Rao’s Marinara Sauce, or any other red sauce I have in my pantry and then top with mozzarella cheese and any vegetables I have in my fridge.
